OUR STORY
We Decide Our Future
EnviroScience4Kids was founded by Sebastian Komaritsky, a high school senior passionate about making environmental science and technology accessible to students across Connecticut. Learning about the work at the Global Environmental Remote Sensing (GERS) Lab at UConn—led by renowned Professor Zhe Zhu and funded in part by NASA—Sebastian recognized the untapped potential to connect this groundbreaking research to younger students.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between the cutting-edge work of the GERS Lab and middle and high school classrooms across Connecticut. By creating this platform, Sebastian aimed to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists, environmentalists, and innovators.
With the support of Congresswoman Jahana Hayes, a champion for education and former National Teacher of the Year, EnviroScience4Kids brings the GERS Lab’s incredible research and resources directly to schools. We coordinate visits to the lab, guest speaker events, and tailored educational experiences to give students a hands-on look at the future of environmental science and the diverse career opportunities it offers.
At EnviroScience4Kids, we believe that by exposing students to what’s happening in their own backyards, we can empower them to make a global impact.
